Singapore – July 29th

July 29, 2010

Another day of work, but I had a good nights sleep so I didn’t feel like I was struggling through the day.  It is really great to meet face to face the people you have been listening to on conference calls.  There is also something to be said for walking down the hall and asking a question instead of sending an email.

IMG_0797After work I decided it was time to learn the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system and headed over to Orchard street – the Rodeo Drive of Singapore.  Prada,  Gucci and many more brand names.  I bought nothing, but I did find the coolest McDonalds I have seen – completely outside.  Mom would be proud (she was a McDonalds stock owner and she also really loved McDonalds.

At lunch, Mark, my coworker and I headed out with no particular destination.  I heard two girls talking in front of me about what the wanted and one said to the other “Japanese” and the other agreed.  I said to Mark “Japanese?”  and we followed them.  We had Sashimi and Sushi at Yamada’s.  It was very good sushi.  So far not a bad meal!

For dinner, I had Roti Prata – a bread similar to Naan that originated in southern india and Murtabak containing egg, onion, minced mutton.
