It was one of those mornings where I kept wondering if It was me or was I really having a bad morning.   I kept thinking that it was me, all me, nothing was going wrong, it was how I was perceiving things.  When I finally decided that it had been a bad morning and it wasn’t me, the day got better.   It started with the hop-on hop-off tour, we went to the stop closest to us, there was no sign indicating the stop, from the map, I couldn’t tell where exactly the stop was supposed to be.   I finally called the company and the girl said that they no longer stop and King station and then gave me instructions to the closed cafe they do stop.  Was this a bad joke?  There were a dozen or so interesting characters (homeless) standing outside the closed cafe.   We waited up the street!

We headed to the Pike Place Market and when we arrived it was packed. I hadn’t been there in ages, but I never remembered it like this, there was a line of at least 50 people at Starbucks, Pike’s Chowder, Piroshky and longer lines for Beechers and other places.   It was wall to wall people!  I noticed that there was a huge cruise ship named the Norwegian Pearl parked at the pier.   That would explain the tour groups.  After I was rammed by a few mothers using their baby carts to clear their paths, I decided it was too crowded and time to go.

Back on the open air hop on/off boss, I had dodged a few low hanging branches on the way to Pike’s Place, on the way to the Pier, we weren’t so lucky and we both got hit by a branch.  I am not talking about a few leaves and twigs, this was a sold branch and it hurt.  Adding insult to injury this woman behind me thought what she had seen was hysterical and was commenting on how she wished she had her camera ready.   As i checked for blood, I wondered  what ever happened to people asking “Are you OK?”

We got off at Miner’s Landing and lunch at Acres of Clams, that was the best part of the morning but when we went to get back on the bus, we met up with a bunch of other people who had been waiting for quite some time.   The bus was supposed to come every 30 minutes but it hadn’t.  Adding insult to injury, when people called the tour company, they were told they were wrong, they must have missed the bus.  The bus that showed up was not an open air-bus and i thought at least I won’t get smacked by another branch.   Once inside I realized that the bus was covered with a see-through graphic wrap which meant you couldn’t take any pictures and what you could see was diminished.

We finished the loop and were dropped off in front of the closed cafe with the shady characters hanging out in front of it and I realized, no it was not just me, this morning hadn’t gone well and it was time to stop fighting it and to go back to the hotel and chill.

I took a nap got up and we went to get some Vietnamese food at Green Leaf.  That was good!
