Vienna

May 30, 2011

One day in Vienna is not enough. The city is visually stunning and there was plenty to see but with my limited time, I was not able to see hardly anything.  Vienna is definitely on my future places to spend some time.  We weren’t at this stop for very long and I heard some people complaining that we should have skipped some of the previous stops and spent more time at this one.

Food commentary

I have been bad about posting food pictures the last couple of days – have no fear, I have been eating, I just haven’t been taking pictures of it.  While in Vienna, I had to fulfill my duties as a Gaidula family member and go to McDonalds.  Here in Vienna, McDonalds are called McCafes.

In reality, I needed to use the restroom in addition to getting change to tip the guide.  McCafe to the rescue!  I noticed while staring at the menu that they dave the Euro Menu just like our dollar menu.  eirder, there there these two podiums that were “Self order” – just like “Self Check-in” at the airport – just drop the bags or in this case pick up the food.  I opted for the live person!

I fulfilled my duty. My parent stand proud – with some of the best food in Vienna, I was chowing down a burger from the 1 euro menu?   What was missing was the all you can eat Ketchup Bar.  They charged for ketchup.
